Do you do a Christmas card every year? Man, it’s a lot of work at the busiest time of year. I’ll confess, I rarely get it done. I’m much better at Valentine cards because I usually have time to put them together, but Christmas cards are hard for me.
A few years ago, I did manage to get some out. I did my photo shoot at Thanksgiving. I just used my simple white background and my one light setup. (You can see my specific equipment here.) The kids wore their Christmas shirts that Nana made and we just shot away.
I selected a few of my favorites and put them together on Miller’s, but you could probably do this on Shutterfly or another popular site. I made my own layout and went with a simple postcard with images on the front and back.
Here’s another idea. If you just don’t have the time to pull together a photo shoot or you have children that are uncooperative, use photos you have already taken earlier in the year. I had some great photos from our summer trip to the beach one year and they made a great Christmas card.
