From choosing the right flowers to adding final touches, this step-by-step guide will help you create a balanced and beautiful arrangement that will set the perfect tone for your holiday celebration. So, let’s dive in and get creative with a palette of pretty pastels and charming spring blooms.

Choosing the Right Flowers
Before you start picking out flowers, it’s important to consider the overall look and feel you want for your Easter arrangement. Pastel colors typically evoke a light, airy, and delicate vibe, so keep this in mind when choosing flowers. Some popular options for pastel blooms include hydrangeas, roses, peonies, tulips, and daisies.
Think about the size and shape of your flowers as well. Varying the heights and textures can add interest to your arrangement. In my arrangement, I used some of the florals I used last your in my Easter tree. I used the tall pink cherry blossom stems, yellow mum stems, and my buttery yellow hydrangeas.
Consider the setting in which your arrangement will be displayed. Will it be on a large dining table or a small coffee table? Take the size of the container into account as well. You don’t want to choose flowers that will overpower the container, or vice versa. I put this arrangement on my dining room table, so I chose florals with some height.

With these factors in mind, you can start selecting the perfect flowers for your Easter floral arrangement. Once you’ve chosen your blooms, it’s time to move on to the next step: picking the perfect container.
Picking the Perfect Container for Your Floral Arrangement
Consider the setting in which your arrangement will be displayed. The container you choose will play a vital role in how your flowers are perceived. If you are creating a centerpiece for a large dining table, a tall vase may be appropriate. On the other hand, for a coffee table, a smaller container might be a better fit.
It’s important to take the size of the container into account when selecting your flowers. You don’t want to choose blooms that will overpower the container, or vice versa. The container should complement the flowers and enhance their beauty.
You should also consider whether you want to use a glass container or one that is not see through. You might need to consider adding some vase filler to hide the stems if you use a glass container. Since my vase was glass, I decided to add some moss as a filler to hide some of the stems. It worked great.
I used my large glass footed vase. This vase is deep enough to hold the tall stems I was using, but I helped it out by adding tape. Have you ever tried the tape trick? You just put some Scotch tape in a grid pattern over the opening. This helps hold the stems in place instead of them just falling to the side of the vase. It worked great here.

With these factors in mind, you can start selecting the perfect flowers for your Easter floral arrangement. Once you’ve chosen your blooms, it’s time to move on to the next step: creating a balanced arrangement that showcases both the flowers and the container.
Creating a Balanced Arrangement
To create a stunning Easter floral arrangement, it’s not only important to choose the right colors and blooms, but also to create a balanced arrangement. This means thinking about the size and shape of the container, as well as the proportions of the different flowers. A balanced arrangement will not only be more visually appealing, but it will also ensure that the flowers last longer.
One important principle to keep in mind is to use an odd number of flowers, as this creates a more natural and visually appealing look. If you’re using a tall container, you may want to start with a tall stem in the center and build outwards from there. Alternatively, you could create a cascading arrangement that spills over the edges of the container.
When choosing your flowers, think about their shape and size. Pair larger blooms with smaller ones to create contrast and interest. You can also mix different textures and foliage to add depth and dimension to your arrangement.
I started with my large branches first. Then I added my tall florals, the cherry blossoms and the yellow mum stems. Once I had those stems looking like I wanted, I filled in at the bottom with my buttery yellow hydrangeas. It was so simple.

By taking the time to create a balanced arrangement, you’ll be able to showcase the beauty of your flowers and container in the best possible way. Once you’ve achieved balance, you can move on to adding the finishing touches to make your Easter floral arrangement truly stunning.
Adding the Finishing Touches To Your Floral Arrangement
After carefully selecting and arranging your Easter floral arrangement in pastel colors, it’s time to add the finishing touches to make it truly stunning. One way to do this is by incorporating natural elements such as branches and twigs to add height and dimension to your arrangement.
Another way to add interest is by using unexpected objects such as Easter eggs or decorative butterflies. Be sure to consider the color and texture of these items when selecting them to ensure they complement your flowers and container.
Here I simply added some cute little Easter egg ornaments to the tips of my branches. This takes the floral arrangement from spring to Easter.
Finally, don’t forget about the importance of lighting. Placing your arrangement near a window or in a well-lit room can help showcase its beauty and create a welcoming atmosphere for your Easter gathering.

By taking the time to add these finishing touches, you can elevate your Easter floral arrangement from beautiful to truly stunning. Also check out my post on the details of the rest of the table at How To Elevate Your Easter Table.
