One day, while taking my morning walk around the neighborhood, I noticed something interesting. It was the day when the city collects big things that people can’t throw in their regular trash cans. They call it “bulk trash pick-up day.” It’s like a special day to look for hidden treasures.
At first, I didn’t pay much attention to a pile of stuff on the side of the road. But then, I couldn’t stop thinking about an old wagon wheel that caught my eye. I decided to go back and take a closer look. What I found was surprising—the wooden part in the middle of the wheel was all rotten and broken. But the outer iron rim was still in good shape. I thought it was worth saving.

That was okay because we needed to redo the flower beds and my large planter anyway. See how the flower bed above came out in my post about easy, low maintenance flower bed ideas. Plus, see more metal wagon wheel rim ideas in my post where I updated my large planter. Finally, the outdoor lights were really the icing on the cake after all of the hard work that went into the backyard.
