There are so many ways to add ribbon to a tree. Whether it’s with cascading ribbon or bows, ribbon adds a pop of texture and color to any tree. Here is an easy way to make a bow pick and add that ribbon into your tree for that little extra pop.

Step One: Cut a Piece of Ribbon
First, you’ll want to cut a piece of ribbon off of your spool. Estimate how big you will want your bow to be by loosely tying a bow. When you have your desired size, cut your ribbon.
Step Two: Twist Wire Around Center
Next you will fold your ribbon in half and twist a piece of floral wire around the center. The heavier gauge the wire is, the better. Your wire will be folded in half as well.
Step Three: Make Loops and Wrap Wire
Now you should have a piece of ribbon attached to a wire. You are almost there. Take one side of your ribbon and make a loop. Take one side of the wire and wrap it around that loop from the front to the back. Then, repeat the same thing on the other side. Your wire will end up in the back and then you will twist it together again. You will end up with a bow on a wire stick.
Step Four: Place Bow Pick
Now that you have your bow pick, place it in the tree and make more. Make as many as you need to decorate your tree to your liking. On this tree, I used two spools of ribbons to make bow picks. I was going for a fairly loopy bow with short tails.
Here is another tutorial I did on cascading ribbon that you can check out at Cascading Christmas Ribbon Tutorial.
