Every year when I finish decorating for Christmas I think I’ll do this exact thing next year. And then every year I change it up. I guess I just can’t help myself. Check out my Christmas Home Tour 2019 Video below to see the whole shebang!
In the front of the house, you will see my formal living room, entryway, staircase, and dining room. In the formal living room, my walls are gray, my ceiling is black and my fireplace is red. This year I tried to pull in the black from the ceiling and let the red fireplace stand on it’s own. I didn’t use any other red until you get to the dining room.
Starting in the entry, you’ll see my biggest tree. It’s a 10 foot full tree and I decorated it with a white deer theme. In the living room, decorated my red mantel with Christmas trees instead of garland. I added a 7.5 foot flocked tree and two other small trees. These trees I decorated with black and white and I added black and white pieces throughout the living room.
I took a different approach to decorating my big tree this year. Check out my post on How To Decorate Your Christmas Tree Like a Designer here. I love the way it turned out. I added birch accents this year with the ribbon and some ornaments. I also added bows and focal points for the first time. I hope you like it.
On the stairwell, you can see I have an antique bed headboard and footboard hanging on the wall. In the past, I have hung stockings on the bedframe; but this year, I added garland to the top. I also added some crystals I had saved from an old chandelier and ice cycles.
I usually add a garland to the staircase, but I did not do that this year. I really wanted the tree to be the focus when you enter the house and I felt like the bedframes were a nice accent to the tree. I just didn’t think I needed the garland.
In the dining room, I set two trees on chairs on the back wall and added red plaid ribbon and red berry picks in a diagonal sweeping line. I filled in with gold ball ornaments. I love the diagonal sweeping line. These are the trees I used last year on my mantel. See my post on How To Get The Flocked Christmas Tree Look here.
In the family room I did a red and gold Santa theme. You can see how I decorated my tree, mantel and bookshelf in the video.
