Welcome to my home. I always decorate for Christmas, but I try to change it up a little bit each year. This year I added some new items and switched some things around to give it a fresh look for 2018. Check out my Christmas home tour.

When you enter our house, you step in to the entryway with a living room on your right, dinning room on your left and the staircase is straight ahead. I always put my 12 foot tree in the entryway in front of the stairs and coordinate my decor throughout the spaces.

My color scheme in these spaces is red and white with gold accents for warmth. I like to take my cues for color scheme from the decor that is already in the room so that when you add your Christmas decorations, they add to and compliment the decor.
THE LIVING ROOM
In the living room you will find my mantel. Because I have such high ceilings in the living room, I like to use my four foot Christmas trees on the mantel to give my mantel decor some height. Check back to see a post on how I updated these trees this year. This year I lengthened my garland and let it dip down in the front.

To the left of the mantle, I put a table with a few fragile ornaments and to the right of the couch is my Christmas village. I added a tablecloth and snow to cover the wires. On the right of the Christmas village, I placed a quilt that my mother made. Then, on the coffee table is another deer to tie in with the deer on the mantle, the antlers in the tree, and the antler chandelier in the dinning room.

THE TREE
For my tree, I went with my white and red ornaments and added some gold touches. Before I could decorate this tree, I had to do some work on the lights. You can see more about that here. For more on the details of my tree, check back for a separate post. Of course, I hung my pet stockings on the bed frame on the stairs like I did last year. This year I added a black chair, mirror, and ice cycles on my entryway chandelier.

GARLAND
Behind the tree I added a garland on the stair railing. The garland dips down like the one on the mantel and is attached it to the railing in four spots with ribbon. At each spot that I attached the garland, I added more ribbon, ornaments and some greenery.

DINING ROOM
In the dining room, I did a simple snow inspired theme with a table runner and chandelier decorations.

WREATH
My wreath went over the door to the family room where you will find my red and gold Christmas tree. To see how this wreath came together, click here.

THE FAMILY ROOM

My family room is very warm with chocolate tones; so, I did my tree in red and gold which feels warm like the room. To see more specifics about this tree check back for a separate post. Also, in this room I decorated the mantel to go with the tree and added my Santas on either end.

Okay, well that’s it so far for Christmas Home Tour 2018. To see my Christmas Home Tour 2017, check that out here.
